A new date has been fixed for the next Progressive Dinner Party. It will be on Saturday 5th April. Your application form
is inside this week's Gossip, and the deadline for joining in is Friday 28th March. If you mislay the form just write your
name and telephone number and whether you'd like to be hosts or guests on a piece of paper and post that in the village
internal post-box next to the notice board on the green. Hopefully as many people as possible will join in - variety is
the spice of life!
February 6th '03 - Spectacular snowdrops!
For the next couple of weeks, snow permitting, you can see a wonderful display of snowdrops and aconites at Wroxton Abbey.
You can walk in the Abbey grounds free of charge and the gates are open all day, every day although dogs are not allowed.
The Abbey and grounds belong to an American university which is generous enough to let us all walk there.
The grounds are lovely and the snowdrops are along a bank to the left and immediately behind the Abbey/house itself.
You don't have to walk far if you don't want to .....
It really is too beautiful to miss and will make you feel that spring is not too far away.
February 5th '03 - Don't be intimidated by your computer or the Internet
Some PC skills and Internet training courses are being run in Banbury from February to April. They take place on Wednesday
mornings for a few weeks at a time. The contact is Peter Titman at Bancec on 01295 266763.
February 1st '03 - Fly a Flag for a Fiver
JUMPA are arranging for a 'Birthday Flag' to be made - it will say 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY (NAME)'.
You can arrange to have this flown all day from the Flagpole on the Green as a Birthday Treat for Someone Special - or
even for Everyone Special - in your life. Simply write the date and the Christian name of the Birthday Person on a piece
of paper, enclose it together with five pounds and post it through Ian Harris's letter box (Grafton Rise, Bell Street) at
least a week before the date, and Ian will take care of the rest. Unfortunately everyone born around Christmas will miss
out, because as well as getting one present instead of two and having your Birthday cards mixed up and indistinguishable
from the Christmas Cards, the Christmas tree on the Green will be occupying the Flagpole hole, so you can't have a
birthday flag either!
