9th February 2012 - Zoom To Zumba
Zumba will be in the Methodist Chapel at 6.30 tonight, Thursday, and next week. The pavilion is being prepared for the pantomime.

A Table Top Sale on will be held this Saturday, February 11, from 2pm - 4 pm in the Methodist Chapel. It’s not too late to book a

Or you can just come along on the day and snap up a bargain! Teas will be served throughout the afternoon.
9th February 2012 - Say It With Flowers
If you’ve got your monthly meeting on Valentine’s Day and you’re the 3Hs Gardening Club, what better event could you arrange than a
talk on… flowers? Peter Sheasby will be giving a slideshow entitled The Flowers of Kazakhstan next Tuesday, February 14, in the
pavilion at 7.30pm.
9th February 2012 - Golden Opportunity
It’s time to put your thinking caps on and come up with a great idea for Hornton’s very own Golden Mile and Olympic Games!
JUMPA are holding the games in June to raise funds and, just like London 2012, Hornton 2012 will have medals for the winners. The
JUMPA Committee wants everyone to get involved - adults and children - so your ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.
So if you can think of a great idea for an event or a stall, please call Ian Donaldson on 01295 670505 or 07733 233816. There will be
a meeting next month to which everyone interested in helping will be invited.
9th February 2012 - A Week To The Ball
Not the Diamond Jubilee Ball, silly – that not till June – but Cinderella’s ball!
Yes, the first performance of Hornton’s panto is a week today, Thursday, and on the following two evening at 7.70pm, plus a matinee
on the Saturday at 3pm. The £7.50 tickets - £5 for the under 12s - are selling faster than you can turn a pumpkin into a carriage, so

9th February 2012 - Green With Envy
The Dun Cow wiped the floor with the Green Man when they beat the Long Itchington cribbers 5-2 away. The victory puts the Hornton
team in tenth place in the Harbury and District Crib League but with a game in hand.

The mobile library from Oxfordshire County Council will be on the village green next Wednesday, Feburary 15, from
10.40am-11.20am.
9th February 2012 - Church Services
Holy Eucharist will be celebrated in the Parish Church of St John the Baptist at 11am this Sunday, February 12. As this is a United
Service, there will be no service in the Methodist Church.
But don’t forget that you can pop in for coffee, cake and a chat in the Methodist Church every Friday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
There is a book, DVD and video swap - and, of course, lots of good gossip! And Thursday Club meets every week after school until 4.30pm
in the Methodist Church School Room. All children are welcome.

2nd February 2012 - Fortnight To Fun
Hornton’s pantomime, Cinderella, is just two weeks away, so if you haven’t bought your tickets yet, now’s the time. Last year some of
the performances were a sell-out! This year, there will be four - at the pavilion – three at 7.30pm on February 16-18, plus a 3pm
performance on that final day.
Tickets are available from Laura Short on 01295 670232 and Audrey Turner on 01295 670304, priced at just £5 for children aged 3 to
11 and £7.50 for everyone else.
2nd February 2012 - Sparkling Time
The Diamond Jubilee may be more than four months away but Hornton’s already got big plans to celebrate it, so please put two big
dates in your diaries now!
The first is Sunday, June 3. That’s the date for the Diamond Jubilee Big Lunch on the village green. Everybody will be invited to
bring along a picnic lunch and the organisers – Hornton Neighbourhood Watch and the Parish Council – hope there will be lots of
children taking part in the fun.
Then, on the following Saturday – June 9 – it will be time for the adults to dress up for the most glamorous event in the village
since the Coronation Ball in 1953! The Hornton Diamond Jubilee Ball will be a strictly black-tie-and-evening-dress occasion, with a
Champagne reception, a three-course sit-down meal with wine and an evening full of surprises!

The Dun Cow lost their latest match 5-2 away against the Butcher’s Arms, leaving them tenth in the 13-strong Harbury and district
Crib League.

The next meeting of Hornton Parish Council will stake place in the Methodist Chapel next Monday, February 6, at 7.30pm. All members
of the public are invited.
