The club is a member of Oxfordshire Association for Young People and is affiliated to Oxfordshire County Council Youth Service
Youth Leaders
There are three regular leaders, supported by a number of other volunteers who have offered to help from time to time. New leaders or visiting speakers (e.g. to talk about hobbies or sports) are always welcome.
Membership
Membership is open to boys and girls from eight years of age upwards.
Meetings
Meetings are in the Hornton Pavilion on Thursday evenings from 6.45 to 8pm during school term times.
Funding
The children pay £1 each time they attend. This covers membership, insurance, hire of the Pavilion and any surplus is used to buy equipment and subsidise outings. Opportunities are taken for fund raising activities and we are grateful for donations from individuals and organisations in the village.
Aims
The aim of the club is to teach skills which the children may not learn at school, as well as to play games and recreational activities.
Future Plans
In the near future we hope to renovate a small pool table, table tennis tables and to get darts and other games to provide indoor activities, especially for the winter months. Currently most of the children are aged between 8 and 12 years, but we intend to cater for older youths, possibly with a separate meeting later in the evening.
